The government persistently suggests state companies to invest into Far East.

"Rosneft" and "Gazprom" with other large state companies have received an invitation to become со-investors together with the Direct Investment Fund of the Far East and the Baikal region. It is inspired by Vladimir Putin the prime minister in the end of 2010. The VEB (Vnesheconombank) is creating a management company "Development Fund of the Far East and the Baikal region" according to "Vedomosti". The bank plans to attract investments for the sum which would allow to reduce a share in fund to 15-20 %, i.e. to add nearby 450 billions to own 80-90 billions of roubles. Read more.

Rambler is starting to invest into startups.

The joint company "Afishi" and Rambler creates his own venture capital fund, promising to invest up to $ 100 thousand into projects at an early stage of development. Preference will be given to developments in electronic commerce, personal and mass communications. A similar venture project has been launched in the spring by "Yandex". "Rambler-Fund" will be initiated in the capital at a start-up stage when a project starts or only exists on a level of ideas. The fund volumes are not disclosed but the company intends to spend at least $ 1 million into startups as investment means annually. A project investment input range from $ 50000 to $ 100000 for a period of 6 - 12 months but it's not the limit and may be increased in case of a very promising project. TNK-BP intends to double gas production rates next 5 years.

TNK-BP intends to double gas production rates next 5 years. The company's expanses will grow on 10-15% annually, says Maxim Barsky the TNK-BP Deputy Chairman in an interview to "Russia 24" TV channel at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. According to him, there is a rise in gas consumption and the company expects a consolidation of the gas assets. M. Barsky says that the company has got a gas project named "Rospan," where the gas production rates make over 13 billion of cubic meters and it is already planned to increase up to 18 billion of cubic meters. TNK-BP is looking forward to purchase new natural gas assets in addition plus to invest into its own international hydrocarbon assets. Read more.

Russian direct investment fund will make its first transaction within 6-9 months.

Russian direct investment fund (RDIF) will make its first transaction within 6-9 months according to the press-service fund. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has officially announced the start of the fund during an international economic forum at the St. Petersburg. The fund’s aim is to invest into fast growing sectors of the economy and will be functioning during the next five years. Russian government has put 10 billion of dollars into this fund. Japan invests into Venezuela's Oil.

Japan will invest 1,5 billion of dollars into PDVSA a Venezuelan company in exchange for oil deliveries. Japan has agreed to provide a 1.5 billion of dollars loan to the Venezuelan state company Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) in exchange for delivery of 3 billion of Oil barrels to the Japanese government for five years. "We have got 54 nuclear power plants (NPP) and more than 30 of them are now closed because of an incident at the "Fukushima-1" plant so that is why the agreement with Venezuela is very important for the Japanese side in thermoelectric power," - says Takashi Kondo a Tokyo ambassador Read more.

RUSNANO invests into MEMS systems

RUSNANO invests into development of electronic components that provide increased performance in computing and communications equipment. The company will be a partner of the American Enterprise SiTime Corporation which designs high-performance oscillators and clock generation chips based on MEMS resonators. The total size of the financing makes up about 22 million of dollars of which RUSNANO investment part is about 15 million of dollars. The investment means will be directed on development of the SiTime research base, geographic expansion of sales and the creation of Russia's development center. Read more.

Cinema Park buys Kinostar de Luxe.

The largest national cinema network "Cinema Park" (belonging to "Prof-Media" group) announces about purchasing of 100% stake in Rising Star Media (network of cinemas under the «Kinostar de Luxe» brand) in UFG Private Equity, Shari Redstone and Paul Heth. Rising Star Media will be fully integrated into the network of "Cinema Park" till the end of 2011. The purchasing is made by the company expenses with means of Vladimir Potanin a shareholders of the"Interros" company.The transaction amount is not disclosed. Read more.
